Description
The United States Special Operations Command, Technology Applications Contracting Office, intends to acquire through limited full and open competition the procurement of an upgraded non-electronically controlled motor to replace the current DC M-134 Mini-gun motor used in armament subsystems for intermittent duty on the MH-6/47/60 special operations aircraft. The Government anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) on or about 11 July 2008 with bid(s) due on or about 11 August 2008. The IFB will not be posted on the Federal Business Opportunity website. The Government intends to solicit only with the limited sources identified under authority FAR 6.302-1(a) (2). Those firms are: McKechnie Investments Inc dba Electromech Technologies, 2600 S. Custer St, Wichita KS 67217; Dillion Aero Inc, 8009 E. Dillions Way, Scottsdale AZ 85260-1809 and Skurka Aerospace Inc, 4600 Calle Bolero, Camarillo CA 93012. Firms that feel they can provide this commodity or equal are encouraged to identify themselves. Requests from firms must be submitted in writing to the address below and must include business size. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bid, however, the Government will consider all bids received by the specified due date (in accordance with FAR 5.203(a)). A determination by the Government not to open this requirement as a full and open acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. The period of performance is approximately three years from date of contract award which includes all options. Funds are available at the time of award for all CLINS except options. You may request a copy via e-mail to anthony.e.watson@us.army.mil. Bids must be delivered to the U.S. Special Operations Command, Technology Applications Contracting Office, Attn: AMSAT-D-TK (Tony Watson), Bldg 408 Lee Blvd., Fort Eustis, VA 23604-5577, by the time specified in the IFB. The requirement will be released as commercial under FAR Part 12. See Note 22. The associate North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 335312.
