- The Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Secure Border Initiative (SBInet) intends to award a sole source purchase order to GovBuys, 7900 Wisconsin Ave., Ste. 3030, Bethesda, MD 30814-3660 for unattended ground sensors (UGS) and supporting communication equipment manufactured by Monitron. This procurement augments an existing nationwide network of UGS and monitoring equipment. The Monitron UGS is a sophisticated processor and transceiver housed in a compact rugged case, which facilitates storage, transportation, and concealment. This unit is ideal for long-term deployment from 3 months to one year or longer depending on configuration. Constructed of injection-molded plastic, the watertight and corrosion-proof case may be deployed either above ground or buried for security and stealth; only the antenna needs to be above ground for proper operation. The UGS utilizes four types of sensor cards: Directional/Seismic (DS), Dual Directional (DD), Dual Seismic (SS) and Contact Closure/Open (CC). See attached description of specific make and model. Firms must be authorized resellers of Monitron equipment. Inquiries/information received after the established deadline willl not be considered for this acquisition. In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services satisfy the Agency's requirements. Any firm who believes it is capable of meeting SBInet’s requirement as stated herein may submit a response, which if received within 5 calendar days of the date of this announcement, will be reviewed. Responses to this posting must be in writing and shall include a letter of authorization from Monitron.
