- There is no solicitation. The US Fish and Wildlife Service, Contracting and General Services Division in Portland, OR has a requirement for the procurement of ultrasonic fish tags manufactured by VEMCO for the Stockton Fish & Wildlife Office, Stockton, CA. These coded transmitters are needed for tagging juvenile salmon which will enable the Service to collect data on migratory pathways at key junctions on the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The project is a cooperative effort between NOAA, U.C. Davis and the US Fish & Wildlife Service. The Cooperators have purchased VEMCO receivers to be used as part of this project and only VEMCO coded transmitters are compatible with the receivers due to the proprietary nature of the VEMCO units. The Service intends to award sole source to VEMCO, a Division of AMIRIX. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue award using other than full and open competition and is not a requrst for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1.
