- 1. GENERAL: The US Fish & Wildlife Service, Kern National Wildlife Refuge, 10811 Corcoran Rd., Delano, CA 93216-0670 has a requirement for the reapplication of gravel for continued usage and accessibility of these roads and levees for employees as well as the public visiting the Refuge. 2. DEFINITIONS: Class 2 road base is an industry standard that is familiar to all gravel contractors. 3. SCOPE: The Kern NWR will purchase 1030 tons of Class 2 Road Base gravel to be spread via bottom (belly) dump trucks on Kern NWR. Refuge personnel will provide guidance to the drivers as to specific locations within the refuge where the gravel is to be spread.4. PLACE/DELIVERY AND PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Road base will be delivered to Kern National Wildlife Refuge, 10811 Corcoran Rd, Delano, CA 93216-0670 Delivery can start as early as 7-1-08 and end on 8-31-08.5. INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE: Job will be acceptable once the complete delivery is made and all tons are received. 6. GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT OR MATERIALS/INFORMATION: No Government equipment or materials will be furnished to the contractor. 7. AVAILABILITY: All work will be completed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 0700 to 1530. 8. TECHNICAL COORDINATOR: Wildlife Refuge Manager, Nick Stanley will be the Technical Coordinator for this project and can be contacted at 661-725-2767. This will be a "best value" procurement with award to be based on experience, and price. Submit Quote and 2 references to the US Fish & Wildlife Service/CGS, 911 NE 11th Ave., Portland, OR 97232, Attn: G. Thacker. No further notice will be posted on Fedbizopps. The solicitation response date will be approximately 7/1/2008. Interested contractors must be registered in the CCR at time of award.
