- The Department of Veterans Affairs has a requirement for Courier Service to transport laboratory test specimens between the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASNHCS) 1000 Locust Street, Reno NV 89502 and the VA Sierra Foothills Outpatient Clinic, 11985 Heritage Oaks Place, Auburn, CA 95603. This Courier Service will consist of one pickup at the Sierra Foothills Outpatient Clinic and delivery to VASNHCS Reno each weekday (Monday through Friday) excluding Federal Holidays. The specimens may be any combination of room temperature, refrigerated, or frozen. The Courier will provide shipping containers, and ice or dry ice as needed, to maintain the specimens at the proper temperature. The Courier will transport all specimens in accordance with DOT and OSHA regulations. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only and the SOLICITATION IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. If there are enough responses of interest to this notice the solicitation will be issued as a 100% set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Concerns or Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) Concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 492110. The size standard for this NAICS code is 1500 employees. The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates awarding a firm fixed price contract. The period of performance will be for one (1) base year with four (4) option years, if exercised. The anticipated contract start date is October 1, 2008. The approximate solicitation release date is on or about July 7, 2008. The solicitation will be available solely through FedBizOpps. The RFP will be issued under solicitation number VA-261-08-RP-0188. The solicitation and any related documents for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media for downloading via the internet at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) www.fedbizopps.gov. All interested parties must have a Dun and Bradstreet Number, Federal Identification Number (FID), Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR), and registered in the Veteran Information Pages at www.VETBIZ.GOV.
