- 54-- Temporary Submarine Hatch Ventilation Enclosure (TSHVE) shall be a metal structure fabricated to conform to the hull of submarines and fit over the hatch to simultaneously provide personnel and utility access to the submarine's interior as well as either supplying fresh outside air or exhausting stale, but relatively clean, inside air. The TSHVE shall incorporate an Internal Hoist system consisting of a Rigging Beam with Trolley, side wall Beam Supports & Brackets, Pneumatic Manifold, and a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) pneumatic hoist. The lifting and handling system shall have a net capacity of two tons. The ventilation system shall incorporate fans with a sharply rising pressure characteristic extending throughout the operating range to assure quiet and stable operation from wide open to closed off. Fan brake horsepower shall be equal to or less than 7.0 brake horsepower (BHP) at four (4.0) inches static pressure and 7,000 CFM at 0.075 lb / cu ft air density (i.e. sea level). Quantity: 9 each with options for 3 each 1/8 scale size training systems. Deliveries to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME 03904. This pending procurement is a 100 percent small business set aside. Only companies with 500 or fewer employees are eligible. This is strictly a pre-solicitation notice. RFP N00189-08-R-PF10 will be issued o/a 20 Jun 2008. The RFP will include all applicable drawing and specification requirements.
