Description
NASA/GRC has a requirement for a Portable X-ray Computed Tomography / Digital X-raySystem.This new CT system must be compatible, and used in combination with our existing Varian2520V panel and Feinfocus FXE 200.20 X ray tube. This CT system will also be capable of digital radiography, and it should be portable soit can be moved from vault to vault allowing significant versatility in testingscenarios.Specifications for High Precision, Portable, Computed Tomographic System:It will have a four axis manipulator subsystem to accommodate test articles with swingdiameter up to 16 inches and weight up to 50 lbs. Included is a portable electric lift cart to raise/lower manipulator system fromapproximately 12 off floor up to 36 off floor.It should will have a three axis computerized motion controller completely integratedwith manipulator subsystem and data acquisition software. It will also have a quick release mount for our Varian 2520V detector. The CT system will use Parker motors and Gallil motion controllers. The CT System will have a dedicated data acquisition and visualization workstation:Data acquisition software:FlashCT-DAQData processing software:FlashCT-DPSData visualization software:FlashCT-VIZThe workstation will have the specs listed below, or better:GPU (Nvidia 8800 GTX or better) when activated it will speed reconstruction by 40X.CPU (QuadCore 2.83 GHz or better)20 Flat Panel Wide screen displayUp to 4 Gigabit ports for various peripheral communication needs5000GB Raid 5 StorageCT system will have reconstruction times of: < 5 min/GB of 3D volume data The system will have repeatable accuracy of at least 50 m.CT system will support data formats;Bitmap, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, SRF, DICOM, PLY, STL.Included in the quote will be a custom, portable, floor standing X-ray tube mount withup-down adjustability. Fabrication of the custom stand is to accommodate for ourexisting FeinFocus FXE200.20 X ray tube. The custom tube stand will be used with andcompatible with the Portable CT System.This Portable CT System will also be compatible with LARC, and MSFCs existing CT systemsin order to improve center-to-center cooperation and interactivity.NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from IMTEC, Corporation. This vendor is the onlyresposible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the simplifiedacquisition procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon June 19,2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
