- Description
- The purpose of this synopsis is for the National Aeronautics and SpaceAdministration (NASA) to provide notification to the launch services industry that therewill be no NASA Launch Services (NLS) solicitation open season in August 2008 due toongoing acquisition planning activities. The NLS RFP was issued on October 18, 1999, and contains an innovative on-ramp provisionfound in Section 2, clause 2.0. To date, the RFP has resulted in the award of IndefiniteDelivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) task order contracts to Boeing Launch Services, Inc.,Lockheed Martin Commercial Launch Services, Inc., Orbital Sciences Corporation, and SpaceExploration Technologies. Each February and August during the life of this RFP, or atany other time established via synopsis, the Government accepts proposals from new launchservice providers for IDIQ contracts and proposals from existing IDIQ contractors foradditional launch services. An electronic version of the Executive Summary, which provides an overview of therequirements, along with the entire NLS solicitation can be found at the Internet Addressin the General Information section of this synopsis. The NLS solicitation is restrictedto domestic sources and offerors must be ISO 9001/2000 certified.
