- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for spare computer modules for the VME backplane.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from GE Fanuc Intelligent Plantforms.(6) Embedded VME Pentium IV Processors (2.2 GHz)Details: 6U VME Pentium IV with onboard ethernet, dual channel SCSI, USB, and enhancedparallel port. p/n VMIVME-7851IRC-230130 (6) Embedded VME CD-ROM and 80 Byte IDE Disk DriveDetails: CD-ROM and Hard Disk Drive for use with the embedded processors. p/nVMIVME-7459-154000 (12) Serial adapters for use with the Embedded VME Pentium ProcessorsDetails: 3' 9 pin Micro-D to standard D serial adapter. p/n 360-010050-001 (1) LynxOS Board Support Package for the Embedded VME Pentium ProcessorsDetails: LynxOS Board support package (4.0.0). p/n VMISFT-7419 to allow C programsrunning in the Embedded Processors under LynxOS v4.0 to access all VME modules and sharedmemory.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon June 21, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
