- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR RUGGEDIZED GAMMA-RAY DETECTORS. The Naval Research Laboratory intends to award a contract on the basis of less than full-and-open competition to Alpha-Spectra, Inc. for one hundred Model Number 16D16X8/3.5B, demountable Sodium Iodide gamma-ray detectors. The required detectors shall be ruggedized against vibrations to show no degradation in energy resolution after exposure to vibration levels equal to that of a non-air ride US highway truck as defined in MIL-STD-810F. Vendors who feel capable of providing the supplies stated above shall fully identify their interests and submit written data in the form of test results or other verifiable documentation that demonstrates conclusively the capabilities of their proposed equipment to meet the MIL-STD-810F vibration conditions stated above within 15 days after publication of this synopsis. Responses received after 15 days or without the required documentation will be determined non-responsive to the synopsis, and will not be considered.
