- The project area is in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest; Clark County, Nevada. There are several treatment units which are approximately 30 to 50 R/T road miles west and northwest from Las Vegas, Nevada. The project work requires the use of brush and tree cutting equipment and ground based machinery to remove fuels from shaded firebreaks. The material to be removed is brush and small trees. Trees are 14” DBH or smaller measured at 4.5 feet above ground (DBH). Trees defined as hazard trees of any DBH will also be removed in this operation. The contract period will be contiguous, and will begin approximately August 22, 2008, depending on weather and ground conditions. This pre-solicitation notice is for an hours-based performance service contract with a minimum and guaranteed 80 hours plus mobilization. The contract requires the Contractor to furnish all labor, equipment, transportation, supplies, supervision, and incidentials necessary to achieve the objectives. Specific task orders will be issued as needed with actual prescriptions and treatment areas. All work shall be performed during daylight hours, and shall not exceed 10 hours in one day. Contractor will be responsible for processing and removal from Government Land all material removed from shaded fuelbreaks. Solicitation will be posted here one or about June 20, 2008.
