- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for Maintenance Dredging Norwalk Harbor. The work on this project consists of maintenance dredging of about 400,000 cubic yards of material from the Norwalk Harbor Federal navigation channel and anchorage areas. This contract will be broken out into base and option bid items. All dredged material shall be removed mechanically by clamshell bucket and disposed of at the Central Long Island Sound Disposal Site (CLISDS), approximately 35 nautical miles from the work site, The dredged material must be capped with about 75,000 cubic yards of materials. This capping of the dredged material at the CLISDS will be with material dredged from North Cove (Old Saybrook) Federal Navigation Project. Due to environmental restrictions dredging operations will not be permitted to begin until October 1, 2008. Capping must be completed by May 31, 2009. Dredging will be allowed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 237990 with a Size Standard of $17.02 million. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about 18 June 2008. Interested bidders can download the solicitation via the Federal Business opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
