Description
THIS PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEWING AND PRINTING IN APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS. This project consists of replacing the culverts at two crossings at Deadman and Reegan Creeks. Deadman Creek will require removing and disposing of the existing 5 foot diameter culvert, structural excavation, installing a new 10 span by 5’-3” rise open bottom arch with precast concrete footings. Construct a new stream channel inside the footings using stream simulation rock. Stream diversion and erosion control will also be needed. Reegan Creek Bridge will require removing and disposing of the existing 6 foot diameter by 60 foot long culvert, structural excavation, installing a new single lane concrete voided slab bridge on concrete sills. Aggregate base shall be placed on the bridge approaches and the approaches and deck shall be paved. The length of span will be determined during final design, but preliminary design shows a 45-foot span. Construct a new stream channel using stream simulation rock. Stream diversion and erosion control will also be needed The projects are located on Lick Creek Road, which is the Valley County road that heads from McCall to Yellowpine. The Contractor will be permitted to close the road while construction is occurring. Work shall occur during the fall months of 2008. The Contractor will not be permitted to close the road at Deadman or Reegan before August 4, 2008 and must complete the work by November 1, 2008. Prospective offerors are advised that there will also be other Forest Service construction contracts in the area starting on August 4, 2008 on the South Fork Salmon River road. There will be one contract to replace the culvert at Goat Creek and another contract to install 4 new stream crossings between Goat Creek and Krassel Work Center. These contracts will close the South Fork Road starting August 4, 2008. When the South Fork Salmon road is closed by the other contracts, there will be still two access routes into Reegan and Deadman Creek. One route is the Lick Creek road from McCall. The other route is from Cascade past Warm Lake, up to the Johnson Creek road, and then to Yellowpine, and then downstream along the Lick Creek Road to Reegan Creek
