- SALT LICK WILDLIFE THINNING – Request for Quotes (RFQ) This project is a total Hub-Zone Set-Aside. GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The purpose of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial thinning of approximately 171 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 45 years old. The performance period is 180 calendar days. PROJECT LOCATION: The project is located on east Prince of Wales Island, in the Salt Chuck/Kasaan Bay area approximately 5 air miles south of Thorne Bay, Alaska. Thorne Bay is accessible via floatplane services based in Ketchikan and Inter Island Ferry system between the Hollis ferry terminal on Prince of Wales Island and Ketchikan. OBTAINING A SOLICITATION: The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about June 13, 2008 for viewing and printing. Potential bidders are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet. If unable to successfully obtain the solicitation from the Internet, then a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests must reference solicitation number AG-0116-S-08-0035. Telephone requests will not be honored. Quotes will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: The Forest Service will not notify you of any changes, the vendor is required to monitor this solicitation through the FedBizOpps website. IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to receive any contract award, Vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) databases. To register your firm in the CCR system, go to: http://www.ccr.gov or by calling 1-888-227-2423 or 269-961-5757. To register your firm in the ORCA system, go to: http://www.bpn.gov. Any vendor not registered in the databases will not be selected for award. The USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation.
