- Description
- NASA/SSC plans to issue a Best Value Request for Proposal (RFP) for the projectentitled: Mitigation Upgrades at High Pressure Gas Facility. The work to be performedunder this contract consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to providea high pressure air storage battery and a 13.8KV buried transmission line between theGenerator building (Bldg 4400) and the High Pressure Gas Facility (Bldg 3304) at StennisSpace Center, Stennis, Mississippi. The air storage battery will consist of sixty-fourair storage vessels with a capacity of 46.1 cubic feet water volume. The vessels willutilize seamless construction techniques and shall be National Board Registered and ASMEcode stamped per ASME Code Section VIII, Div. 1 or Division 2.The work consists ofsite-work, concrete, steel, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and other incidentalrelated work items.The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000, and theeffort shall be completed within 455 calendar days after receipt of the notice toproceed. This procurement is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Asa result, all qualified responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall beconsidered by the agency.The NAICS Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 237130 and $31.0million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about Jun 17, 2008, with an anticipatedbid closing date of on or about Jul 17, 2008. The firm date for receipt of bids or offerswill be stated in the RFP. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. An organized site visit has been scheduled for Jun 24, 2008, at 9 AM. Participants willmeet at the South Reception Center, Stennis Space Center, MS. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". Specifications and Drawings will only be made available on CDROM. These documents will bein Microsoft Office format and will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may beaccessed using a WWW browser application.
