- SYNOPSIS FOR SOLICITATION NO: NAMA-08-Q-0055 PURCHASE OF ROLLED PAINTED STORAGE UNIT GEORGE BUSH PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY The National Archives and Records Administration intends to award, on a sole source basis in accordance with FAR Clause 6.302-1 with, Crystallizations, Inc 1401 Lincoln Ave, Holbrook, NY 11741, for the purchase of (1) rolled painting Storage Unit for the existing artifact storage unit at the George Bush Library. Crystallizations, Inc. is the designer and manufacturer of the existing storage system and has a patent on the design for the storage unit. The storage units are unique to Crystallizations and are custom made to fit the system. No similar storage units exists, or can be made to fit the system without going through costly design and fabrication processes. The storage unit specs are as follows: Material: all non-reactive with no off-gassing aluminum unit is lightweight and rigid. The aluminum is completely. No paint is used. Sizes: 9'0" ht x 10'0" wd Spacing: On-center spacing of the units that is completely flexible and can be adjusted to meet changing collection needs. Surface Area: The hanging surface is flattened and expanded (diamond) aluminum sheet. The diamond pattern maximizes placement flexibility and density. "S" Hooks: "S" hooks are stainless steel rod for a secure fit into the narrowest portion of the diamond opening to prevent horizontal movement. The long way dimension opening is vertical to ensure the secure hook placement. The statutory authority cited for other than full and open competition is USC 2304 (c)(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Companies who can provide the above listed proprietary item must indicate their interest on or before June 6, 2008 by fax at 301-837-3227. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 332510 and the corresponding SIC code is 9905 with the size standard being 500 employees. All interested parties are encouraged to provide information on their capabilities to meet this requirement. In order to be considered a potential source, interested parties must submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating the capabilities to satisfy the requirement specified above and advantages of the Government to consider another source. The documentation shall include prices and descriptive literature containing sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide capability to meet this requirement. Only written responses will be considered. All responsible sources will be considered for evaluating the determination to issue a sole source contract. The resulting contract will be issued on or about June 9, 2008. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. Refer to Note 22 in Fedbizzopps.
