- Description
- The Federal Railroad Administration intends to issue a solicitation for a multiple award IDIQ task order contract for appraisal services to assist in determining the valuation of proposed collateral from Railroad Rehabilitation Improvment Financing (RRIF) loan applicants. Task orders will be compeitively awarded using individual statements of work. It is highly desirable for the contractor to have specific expertise and experience in the valuation of railroad related property. The subject property may be located in any area of the country. It is preferred, but not required that the contractor is prepared to perform appraisals nationwide. The types of equipment which may require appraisal by the contractor may include, but are not necessarily limited to one or more of the following: Locomotives, rail cars, equipment designed for the maintenance of railroad tracks, right-of-ways land segments, rail spurs, buildings, the track itself and other non-rail specific heavy equipment; such as bulldozers and other unique properties. In the past FRA has utilized a contracting vehicle through another mode of Department of Transportation and now intends to award for it's own use. The period of performance for the contract(s) will include a 12-month base year plus four (1) year option periods. FRA anticipates issuance of the solicitation on or about June 9, 2008. This solicitation will be issued electronically free of charge on the Federal Business Opportunities website www.fbo.gov. Interested sources may submit a written request to be placed on the mailing list to be notified once the when the solicitation has been released. Firms may email their requests to Tracey.Cross@dot.gov. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted.
