- NASA/KSC has a requirement for a one year maintenance agreement for laboratoryinstruments. Item #1 Polaris Q w/ Trace Ultra GC Serial no. MS110139. Item #2 Polaris FIDDetector Serial no. 119900-0511. Item#3 Single stage linear quadrupole mass spec materialDSQ115LT Serial no. MS110107. Item# 4 DSQ115LT FID Detector Serial no. 119900-0511. Item#5 Nicolet 6700 Optical Spectrometer Serial no. AGB0500480; Item#6 1 VALPRO AnnualCertification. Item#7 Nicolet FT-IR X700 AEM Serial no. AET0500286. Item#8 NicoletContinuum Serial no. AFK0501263. Item#9 Polyscan ICP Serial no. 34382. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Thermo Electron Corporation. The reason forthe restriction is that the maintenance is for existing Thermo Electron equipment thatsupports operations for several programs including the Shuttle. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to maria.m.figueroa@nasa.govnot later than 4:30 p.m. local time onJune 9, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
