********SEND ALL QUESTIONS INCLUDING CAPABILITIES AND TECHNICAL QUESTIONS INWRITING TO TIM CARSON AT Tim.Carson@nasa.gov; FAX: 256-961-4753***********NASA/MSFC has a requirement to upgrade Laser Measurement System with the following XL-80upgrade kit:-XL80 Laser head A-9908-0405 -XC80 Environmental comp. unit A-9908-0510-Laser XL Software A-9908-0301-Software Support Disc A-9908-0303-XL Tripod stage kit A-9908-0700-Full System Case A-9908-0314-ML-XL Tripod adaptor A-9908-0765-QuickView XL Software A-9908-0302Straightness Shutter A-8003-4209 Straightness Accessory Kit A-8003-STAK Short Range Straightness Optics A-8003-0443 Squareness Optics Kit A-8003-0665 Swivel Mirror A-8003-1304 RX10 Rotary calibrator. A-8003-1773 Warranty and calibration:5 year extended warranty and calibration contract - XL/XC - XL-WAX-5C Metrology Training at Renishaw A-8003-LATC. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Renishaw, Inc., for the following reasons:1. The RX 10 "Rotary Calibrator" in conjunction with the XL 80 laser system, allowsrotary axes to be calibrated to laser accuracy. 2. This upgrade requires no additionalequipment. 3. Replaced equipment can be recycled. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon June 10, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
