Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 02 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR VACUUMSYSTEMS PARTS AND FITTINGS. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a writtenamendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to the question as follows:(Q) Lines 1 through 16 call for "Blank KF". This does not appear to be an accuratedescription because it is contrary to standard nomenclature. Here's why:"Blank" is used to indicate no bore/through-hole in the flange or stub.It is common for lines 1 through 8 to be "Blank KF", but not lines 9 through 16. So,this brings us to question which, if any, are actually "Blank" or non-bored? I believeit is safe to assume that the conical reducers have bored holes, since it would beimpractical for them to be "Blank" on either end or both ends.(A) If the description says "blank" then there will not be any holes or ports in them. Asfar as the conical reducers they are thru ports with holes already in them depending onthe sizes asked for in the description, 25 to 16 and so forth. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on May 21, 2008.
