- Furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, and operating supplies (including herbicides, dye, surfactant and water) to spray approximately 232.1 acres of noxious weeds. The project areas are located on the San Carlos Ranger District of the San Isabel National Forest in the State of Colorado. The Forest Service will provide detailed maps of treatment areas. Some of the work occurs adjacent to Forest Service roads. It is estimated that 138 acres can be treated with ATV or backpack sprayer and 94.1 acres with a 4x4 truck mounted sprayer. The weeds are in widely scattered patches throughout the District. The target weed species are bindweed, diffuse knapweed, yellow toadflax, musk thistle, Canada thistle, leafy spurge, hounds tongue, and tamarisk. Some treatment sites occur along road corridors adjacent to streams or wetlands where shallow water tables or open water occurs. The estimated starting date for this contract is June 26, 2008, with a completion date of September 30, 2008. The contractor shall maintain progress at a rate that shall assure completion and acceptance of work within this time frame. Estimated dollar value of this contract is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.000. The solicitation will be restricted to small businesses. The small business size standard for this type of work (NAICS Code 115310) is $6.5 million.
