Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Reference Number is F1M1G88080A001. The 437th Contracting Squadron, 101 E. Hill Blvd., Charleston AFB SC, requires the purchase of 80 each C-17 High to Low Impedance Adapters, Part Number CENC74B-03VC. The adapters are used by the C-17 aircrew with their Aircrew Eye/Respiratory Protection (AERP) system to allow communications in/around the aircraft while operating in a chemical environment. The 437th Contracting Squadron intends to make an award Esterline Mason-Electric, Mason Controls, 1399 Balboa Blvd., Sylmar, CA 91342. Extensive market research was performed and information gathered in determining this company to be the only source for these services Per FAR Part 5.207-13(e) Fed Biz Ops Numbered Note 22 applies and is modified to read: The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to response to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement Response to this notice must be received via email, fax, mail, or delivery by 29 May 2008 no later than 3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.
