- The Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Custom Enforcement, intends to negotiate and award a six-month extension on Contract Numbers ACL2C0002 and ACL2C0003 with the incumbent contractor AKAL Security Inc. P.O. Box 1197, Santa Cruz, NM 87567, in accordance with statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(1), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The requirement involves providing and maintaining all management, supervision, manpower, training, licenses, equipment, supplies, certificates, insurance, pre-employment screening with financial capabilities and experience necessary to provide guard services to the Florence Service Processing Center located at 3250 N. Pinal Parkway Avenue, Florence Arizona and El Centro Service Processing Center at 1115 North Imperial Avenue, El Centro California. The requirement will start on July 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008. It is in the best interest of the Government to solicit and negotiate with the incumbent for the aforementioned requirement without threat of disruption of services. The six-month extension is required to award new contracts with an anticipated start date of November 1, 2008. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 561612 and the Size Standard is $17.5 million. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR A SOLICITATION OF OFFERS. A SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. The Government will consider all responses received within ten days after the date of publication. A determination not to compete the proposed based upon the responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
