Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to place on a Sole Source basis, a firm-fixed price purchase order to Electric Boat Corporation for system engineering and technical services to the TOMAHAWK SSN 668 Class Vertical System (VLS) program. At this time Electric Boat Corporation is the only source authorized to furnish the required services IAW the Statement of Work, as EB is designated by NAVSEASYSCOM as the sole Interface Change Request (ICR) Integration Activity. This designation allows EB to maintain all Launch System Interface Control Document Technical Drawings and authorizes EB as the only source with the ability to incorporate specification or drawing changes. This acquisition will be processed using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. NAICS Code 541330, size standard $4.5 million. The period of performance is 3 months from date of contract award. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capabilities statement which will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information may be submitted via email, fax (401)832-4820, or mailed to Commercial Acquisition Department, Building 11, Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Code 11912, Simonpietri Drive, Newport, RI 02841. Further details including a Statement of Work will be released upon issue of RFQ # N66604-08-Q-3545, which is anticipated to be on or about 06/09/2008.
