At full operation, for SSA's Baltimore Metro West Building, daily operational elevator units include 13 elevators and 34 escalators. Security clearances will be required for all contractor personnel performing on-site work. This acquisition will be conducted in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. SSA anticipates that this competition, restricted exclusively to small business concerns, will result in the award of one hybrid contract consisting of two parts: monthly services at a firm fixed price (FFP) and recurring repair requirements to be ordered via FFP task orders as needed. The term of the contract is anticipated to extend five years consisting of one base year and four option years. The base year performance period for this effort is anticipated to begin on August 1, 2008 and end on July 31, 2009. Any additional information and documents on this requirement will be posted to FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov). Potential Offerors are responsible for monitoring the FedBizOpps site for release of this solicitation, amendments and all other documents relative to this solicitation. Requests for paper copies will not be honored. Prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) https://www.bpn.gov/CCR/scripts/index.html database prior to award of any contract. SSA anticipates release of the solicitation (SSA-RFP-08-1040) within the week of April 7, 2008. A two-day site visit is tentatively scheduled for April 28 and 29, 2008. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. All questions must be submitted in writing via e-mail to bridget.hamel@ssa.gov. NO PHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. E-mail communications shall include company name, address, point of contact, e-mail address, phone and fax numbers.
