- The Office of Public Health and Science, (OPHS), Public Health Reports through the Program Support Center, Division of Acquisitions Managements, is amending a Professional Service Contract Number HHSP233200700694P to Jennifer S. Reising, 1415 Wegold Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45223. The reason for the modification is that the Journal Public Health Reports has planned additional special topic issued in addition to our regular issues. To edit manuscripts submitted to Public Health Reports and ready them for publication. Throughout the year the contractor shall be contacted with manuscripts that need to be reviewed. The contractor will be expected to submit to the journal the review of a manuscript within two weeks. On occasion they will be asked to provide the review sooner. The Editor of Public Health Reports will discuss the task with the contractor. The Editor of the Journal will provide feedback as the reviewed manuscripts are submitted. The contractor will receive electronic copies of manuscripts that have been assigned to specific issues of the Journal, copy edit, edit for clarity, and prepare manuscripts in the proper formatting according to the PHR style manual. The work includes contacting the contributing authors for approval of suggested changes and providing editing advice. When completed, the manuscripts will be sent electronically to the design and layout contractor, CCSI. The period of performance will be through September 15, 2008. The contractor will deliver the edited manuscripts in time for inclusion in the scheduled issue. The contractor will assist in determining a production schedule. During the performance period, the contractor=s work will be reviewed at least weekly by the Editor of the Journal to assure that it meets the needs of the Journal. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
