Description
Marine Corps System Command, Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), is issuing this Sources Sought Notice to identify potential Vendors capable of providing (2) two Small Arms Gunfire Noise Simulators for the Air Field Seizure Facility (AFSF) that will be constructed at MCOLF Atlantic Field, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. This device simulates small-arms gunfire (rifle or machinegun noise) for infantry training, thus adding realism to day or night maneuvers, and conditioning trainees to the sound of operational small caliber weapons. The device consists of a gun simulator, a gas regulator, sets of propane and oxygen bottles, trigger devices, power supplies, AC to DC converter, battery operated remote control device, and switch boxes capable of operating up to three (3) Small arms gunfire. The device resembles a real machinegun, and may be fired locally or remotely. It can fire single shots or bursts using a metered amount of oxygen and propane that is ignited inside the barrel by a spark plug. The Contractor shall furnish the necessary travel, services, supplies, FOB Destination delivery of the (2) two Small Arms Gunfire Noise Simulators to the Air Field Seizure Facility (AFSF) located at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, NC. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing 2 Operations and Maintenance Manuals, and a list of spare parts needed to sustain the simulators. This award will be approximately $25,000 with an anticipated delivery date of 90 days after contract award. This request for proposal in no way implies either implicitly or explicitly that respondents will be compensated in any way by the US Government for information or materials provided. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Written response is requested within 15 days after publication of this notice. The Marine Corps reserve the option to purchase additional systems and supplies from the approved vendor for sites aboard other Marine Corps facilities. This request is for all Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Non-Developmental Items (NDI). No phone calls will be accepted.
