Description
1. NOTICE: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Pittsburgh District, is providing notice that it will extend the current term of contract number DACW59-03-D-0001. This “bridge” extension is a short-term measure that will enable the agency to complete acquisition activities related to the competitively awarded follow-on contract to contract number DACW59-03-D-0001. The contract provides service support for generator set activities in response to natural and man-made disasters, to include Incidents of National Significance, in the United States or its territories. An Incident of National Significance is an actual or potential high-impact event that requires robust coordination of the Federal response. The Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with other departments and agencies, and the White House, as appropriate, declares Incidents of National Significance. There are no automatic triggers for an Incident of National Significance. The contract will be extended for a period of five months. The initial extension will be for a two month period and on a month to month basis thereafter until a replacement contract is awarded. This is not a request for proposals. Time does not permit the competitive solicitation, evaluation, and award of a bridge contract. 2. CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS: The current contractor is responsible for providing all labor, materials, transportation, equipment and supervision and required internal logistical support to perform generator set activities. Generator set activities are defined as assessing power needs; preparing, hauling, installing, operating and maintaining, servicing, fueling, relocating and recovering diesel powered generator sets (Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and associated fuel systems; purchasing materials and installing miscellaneous electrical equipment in support of the response missions. The Government furnished generator sets range in size from 4 KW up to 1MW. The Contractor may also be required to lease generators to meet mission requirements. The contractor will be required to perform generator set activities on leased generators, too.
