Description
SOURCES SOUGHT FOR HOSPITAL FLOOR RESTORATION AND UPGRADING CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT; A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. NO REIMBURSEMENT WILL BE MADE FOR ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT OR ANY FOLLOW-UP INFORMATION REQUESTS. THERE IS NO BID PACKAGE OR SOLICITATION. IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE PROCUREMENT INTEGRITY OF ANY FUTURE PROCUREMENT, IF ANY, THAT MAY ARISE FROM THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, INFORMATION REGARDING THE TECHNICAL POINT OF CONTACT WILL NOT BE GIVEN AND NO APPOINTMENTS FOR PRESENTATIONS WILL BE MADE. Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast (NAVFAC SE) is seeking qualified and interested parties on an unrestricted basis. The work will primarily consist of major renovation, restoration and upgrading of deteriorating of the entire 4th and 5th floors with selected renovation on the 3rd floor all located in Building 2268, the Naval Hospital Pensacola as listed below: 4th Floor Surgery, PACU, Pre-Op/Post-Op and ICU. The floor is T shaped and organized with two intersecting racetrack corridor systems. Surgery occupies the north wing while PACU, Pre-Op/Post-Op, ICU and associated surgical support survices occupy the esast and west wings. 5th Floor Medical/Surgery Unit: The floor is rectancular, organized in a racetrack corridor system with a visitors area located immediately adjacent to the visitor elevators in the center of the floor with a sub-nurse station near each end of the floor. The work requires two phases and the hospital will remain operational during construction. Phase one will consist of renovation of the 5th floor for medical, surgery and costruction of a new mechanical penthouse. Incidental above ceiling plumbing work on the floor below will occure during this phase in a scheduled sequential manner to minimize disruption. The 3rd floor HVAC work will also take place during this phase with minor above ceiling work on the 2nd floor. Phase two will be renovation of the 4th floor for the intensive Care Unit (ICU) Unit/ Same Day Surgery (APU), Pre-Op/Post-Op, and Respiratory Therapy. Incidental above ceiling plumbing work on the floor below will occure during this phase in a scheduled sequential manner to minimize disruption. A The existing floor tiles contain asbestos. Award will be made to the responsible offeror whose proposal, as it conforms to the solicitation requirements, represents the best value to the Government. The NAICS Code for this solicitation is 236220, Hospital Construction. The Small Business Size Standard is $31,000,000. The projected magnitude for this project is $18M. Interested sources are invited to respond to this sources sought announcement. Respondents shall provide up to five projects that best demonstrate the companys experience relative to the types of work covered by this requirement. Projects should be representative of NAICS 236220 and be similar in size, scope, and complexity to this requirement. Contracts must have been performed or substantially performed within the last five years. Contracts with federal, state, or local Government, and/or commercial customers will be accepted. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. However, NAVFAC SE will use the information provided for technical and acquisition planning. If adequate numbers of responses are received from qualified 8(a), HUBzone or Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business concerns, the acquisition may be solicited on a set-aside basis. All proprietary information not to be disseminated in Government documents must be clearly identified. Please respond to this announcement by 2:00 p.m. (ET) on 28 May 2008, via email to roger.mcaughan@navy.mil. The subject line of the email shall state NAVAL HOSPITAL PENSACOLA SOURCES SOUGHT RESPONSE. Emails shall be no more than 10MB in size. If additional space is needed, more than one email may be sent. Responses received after the deadline or without the required information shall be considered unacceptable and will not be considered. Since this is a sources sought announcement, no evaluation letters and/or results will be issued to the participants.
