- The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense (DoD) Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to acquire on a sole source basis with Thursby Software Systems, Inc. (DBA T S S) in Arlington, TX ADmitMAC for CAC v1.1 software. The ADmitMAC for CAC v1.1 software enables Macintosh Workstations to utilize the Common Access Card (CAC) logon within a Windows Domain. The DoD began issuing its CAC in October 2006 as a result of the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12/HSPD-12. Pursuant to the United States President’s mandate, the new HSPD-12 compliant card contains advanced technology, which enhances the security of federally controlled facilities and computer systems and ensures a safer work environment for all Federal employees and contractors. Thursby Software Systems, Inc. has no reseller and this software was specifically designed to address the President’s mandate. This award is IAW FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1) and authorizes USUHS to award contracts when only one source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
