Description
This announcement is being prepared in accordance with FAR Part 5.203(a) and is NOT the actual solicitation for a requirement. A full solicitation package outlining all requirements shall be issued on or about May 21, 2008. The Bureau of Land Management, Alaska State Office, will be soliciting quotes for the construction of a log cabin measuring 14 ft X 16 ft outside dimensions with 8 ft high walls and a 6 ft X 14 ft porch and log gable ends, using a butt and run construction, or similar method. Work under the proposed contract, if awarded, will be located at the Bureau of Land Management Paxson Lake Campground, located at Mile Post 175 Richardson Highway, Paxson, Alaska. Additional 8-inch dry spruce, 3-sided surface cut logs will be provided by the BLM(Government) and will be made available for the contractors use on-site. The Government provided logs will need to be peeled by the contractor on site. The logs that will be provided by the BLM are as follows: One 25 foot x 8 inch three sided logTwo 24 foot x 8 inch three sided logsTwo 18 foot x 8 inch three sided logsThree 16 foot x 8 inch three sided logsOne 14 foot x 8 inch three sided log900 linear feet x 8 inch three sided logs, assorted lengths A mandatory site visit, with date and time, will be outlined within the pending solicaition and interested parties wishing to submit a cost proposal for the project will be required to attend. Government supplied materials will be available for viewing at this site visit. Any and all costs associated with the site visit shall be the full responsibility of the contractor. Estimated construction period is to take place during the summer/fall 2008, with a required date of completion of September 30, 2008. The estimated price range for this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. THE PENDING SOLICIAITON WILL BE A TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE UNDER NAISC CLASSIFICATION CODE 236115, WITH A SIZE STANDARD OF $31M. Interested parties claiming capability or ability to fulfill this requirement may contact the contracting officer Paul Griffin at (907) 271-3208 to request a full soliciation package. Award shall be made on lowest overall price to complete all requirements listed within the pending soliciation. See Numbered Notes 1 and 13. As listed above, (ft) is to be understood as "foot" or "feet" as an Imperial Unit or United states Customary Unit of measurement.
