- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) intends to negotiate a sole-source procurement with the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA. The contractor, University of Iowa, will provide technical support and services for the Dept of Defense "Computational Research and Engineering for Acquisition Tools and Environments" (CREATE) in the NSWCCD's Ship Hydrodynamics program. Development to include the study of bare hull resistance for mono-hull and multi-ship concepts. The University of Iowa has previously worked with the Office of Naval Research in comparative design studies. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(i)(A). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
