- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for a 12-month annual service contract on 6Government-owned NETZSCH Instruments to include preventive maintenance and 3 days ofon-site service per instrument, 1 job. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from NETZSCH Instruments, Inc. to supportcontinuation of the present maintenance agreement on the TGA/MS System and initiatecoverage on newly acquired instruments. NETZSCH Instruments is the original manufacturerof the research equipment. The equipment is controlled by proprietary software, whichonly NETZSCH engineers have access. Only NETZSCH Instruments technicians are highlytrained in the technical support of their own equipment and can keep the equipmentoperating at maximum efficiency. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 05/22/2008.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
