Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide questions, answers, clarifications and a revised Statement of Work. Section (v) of the original Combined Synopsis/Solicitation is replaced in its entirety below. Interested parties should submit their quotes with this amendment. Clarifications. Server partitioning and shared drive set up will be performed by Government IT Specialists. Server integration is not a part of this requirement. Questions and Answers. 1.It is still unclear where new CAT5 Cabling is required and where EMT conduit needs to be run. Would you please clarify this? CAT5 Cable is no longer a requirement. Government IT Specialists will handle all issues with server integration. 2.You did clarify in Question 3 in amendment 4 that the room connect to the network via CAT5. May I ask for confirmation that it is in fact CAT5? CAT5 is not necessary, G6 will take care of this portion of the customers requirement. 3.Please clarify Question 6 in amendment 4. No server integration is required. 4.Should there be a 2 port network switch provided at each PC? Yes, an AB switch. 5.Why is this needed? To go back and forth and avoid damages to the equipment. 6.If so, is there a preferred model of switch? (many networks dont like strange network appliances on them). This is not a network switch, it should be a hard copper disconnect switch. 7.Is this a security switch, and does it need to pass any Tempest Certification? No. 8.How far from each desktop PC to Smartboard (on average). They will be right next to each other. Smartboard to PC will go down the wall into the PC. Maximum cable length 15ft to PC. 9.Will the VGA & USB cables from the PC to the projector & board need to be run along the floor inside a rubber cable cover and up the wall in raceway? Yes. 10.Is there a local monitor on each desktop PC? Yes. 11.Repeat of Question 7 in amendment 4. The answer was Please see breakout below of classroom power equipment needs but there is no breakout below answering this question. Power and network requirements are not relevant to what is being quoted as amended here. The only information provided and needed is the individual classrooms on the second and forth floors. 12.Is electrical power being provided separate from this requirement or does our quote need to provide for electrical power as well? This is a separate requirement and should not be included in the quoted price. 13.Will there be an IT specialist available to load Smart Technologies software on Government Provided Systems? These will be password protected and preconfigured, so Government IT help will be required. Yes. 14.Will the IT folks set up the Shared folders on the server for each room prior to our work? This is a Government network function and an outside contractor will not have access to do this. Yes. 15.You specified that work must be done on weekends. We have done other classroom projects in Bank Hall during weekday evenings. Is this a possibility? There is a possibility that this could be coordinated. Coordination would be required to clear out the classrooms, even for the weekend work will require coordination to clear out the classrooms which contractors will be installing the Smartboards for the day. Possibility, however, this cannot be guaranteed. 16.Is there a date required for project completion? As soon as possible. 17.Are there enough open ports in the IDF closets for an additional 52 network drops? If not, we would need to add additional patch panels. This question should be mute based on the information provided above. Network integration is no longer a requirement. 18.CLIN 0003 Denotes connecting to equipment that is currently installed, Rooms 236 and 266. Please elaborate on this capability. Need Ysplitter and audio cable to go from the PC to the smartboard. 19.Is plenum rated cable is acceptable in lieu of conduit. Yes. Conduit should no longer be required, plenum rated cable should only be required on the wall and to the floor for the SmartBoard to PC connection. 20.We assume that each classroom already has connectivity for the student computers. The solicitation requirement is to connect to the network the computer which is attached to the interactive whiteboard. We assume that it would be acceptable to place a network switch on one of the existing/working network pors and to connect to the switch the device that was previously connected on that port plus the computer connected to the interactive whiteboard. It sounds like the assumption is here there is more than one computer, there is only one computer in each classroom which will be connected to the smartboard.
