- The Government is seeking professional design services from an architect-engineering (A/E) firm to develop working drawings and specifications for project 646-08-114 to Renovate B49 - HJH for Prosthetics at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Delafield Road, Heinz Division, Pittsburgh, PA 15215. Work includes develop working plans and specifications to renovate approximately 4600 gross square feet to contain a Prosthetic Suite. Design project work to meet VA, NFPA, OSHA, and NEC electrical requirements. In conjunction with, VA Handbook 7610, chapter 308, the A/E shall also investigate and inspect the existing area to improve the aesthetic appearance and verify that we have the appropriate utility services, necessary for all specified equipment. Design and prepare working drawings and specifications, perform site visit/inspections, as required during the construction period services as the owner's technical representative and produce construction contract documents, as required. This project involves the removal and installation of HVAC components, new controls and distribution systems, ceiling systems, structural modifications, lighting and upgrading of finishes and other interior design elements. All designs shall be accomplished in accordance with VA guidelines and specifications, which are available on the Internet at http://www.va.gov/facmgt/standard. The A/E will make site visits as necessary to survey existing conditions as required to determine existing as-built conditions affecting this project. A/E shall field verify every aspect that relates to the project, coordinate visits with the Project Manager. A/E must be proficient in the use of Auto Cad 2007 and have access to Microsoft Word 5.0 or higher. Estimated cost of construction is $25,000 - $100,000. Area of consideration is restricted to within sixty (60) miles of the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, Delafield Road, Heinz Division, Pittsburgh, PA 15240. Those interested firms, both small and large, within the area of consideration shall submit three (3) copies of current SF 330 to the attention of Pamela Rayburg, Contracting Officer 90C-H, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. The NAICS code is 541330 with the small business size standard of $4.5 million. Due date for SF 330's is June 6, 2008 at 1:00pm. This is not a request for proposal. Numbered Note #24.
