- Description
- In accordance with FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole-source purchase order to Fundacao Artur Benardes (Funarbe) in Vicosa, Brazil. Funarbe is the only organization that has contractual agreements with the CDC's primary partner, the Federal University of Vicosa. No other organization can execute the necessary requirements that will allow the CDC to co-fund this project in the required timeframe. Funarbe,in collaboration with the Federal University of Vicosa, shall evaluate the impact of the Water Safety Plan on the occurrence of waterborne diseases (diarrhea) in Vicosa, and the water quality distribution. The University will develop a geographical information system integrating epidemiological and drinking water quality surveillance data. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC. A determination by the CDC not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the government.
