- NASA/DFRC has a requirement for 25 pressure transducers for the Abort Flight Testof the Crew Exploration Vehicle.The specifications are: (Kulite part numbers referenced)LL-11B-250-15A Pressure Transducers (Qty 25)NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items from Kulite Semiconductor Products. Kulite is theonly sensor manufacturing company that has a product that continues to meet theserequirements. They are the only ones because it is their patented silicon-on-siliconprocess that allows their product to operate in such high temperatures.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon May 17, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications [are/are not] acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.[OMBUDSMAN STATEMENT IS REQUIRED]An Ombudsman has been appointed.
