- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head, Md. (NSWCIH) intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to TA Instruments, Incorporated. The procurement consists of a Multi-Channel Thermostat, Multicalorimeter Mounting Kit, Interface Module, Minicalorimeter Blank, Ampoule, Installation and Training. NSWC-IHD has a requirement for the instrumentation in order to measure the heat flow associated with chemical and physical processes, namely, chemical reactions and phase changes. Because this instrumentation is capable of measuring heat flow rates on the order of microwatts, it is the most sensitive of the thermoanalytical techniques. It will be used for thermal characterization of both energetic and non-energetic materials involving both research and standardized testing. The applicable (NAICS) code is 334513. The FSC code is 6685. The resulting contract will be a firm fixed price purchase order. Negotiation being conducted using other than full and open competition procedures pursuant to authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C) (1). See Note 22.
