- Cowlitz River Flood Control, August 2008 Dredging The Portland District Corps of Engineers intends to award a contract for Cowlitz River Flood Control, August 2008 Dredging located in Longview, Washington. This project includes dredging approximately 250,000 cubic yards of material from Cowlitz River, river mile 2+10+00 to 3+00+00. The disposal of all material shall be an adjacent upland disposal site. The Contractor shall be required to prepare the upland disposal site. The Contractor shall be required to commence work not later than 10 days after Notice to Proceed (NTP), to prosecute the work diligently, and complete the work not later than 31 August 2008. For this project, the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with similar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsible individual. The Solicitation Package (technical data package) will be available for download from FedTeDs, www.fedteds.gov on or about 19 May 2008 with bids due tentatively 30 days after issue.
