- The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered RFQ-AG-0109-S-08-0015 on or about April 25, 2008, for the Seward Trails Brushing project. The contractor furnishes all labor, equipment, fuel, oil, transportation and supplies to perform services for the clearing of vegetative growth and brush located along approximately 51.44 miles of trails on the Seward Ranger District, Chugach National Forest. The project areas are located on the eastern half of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. The work areas are accessed from the Seward and Sterling Highways. Work will be performed on the Johnson Pass Trail, Russian Lakes Trail, south, Crescent Lake Trail, Lynx Creek Trail, Wibel Trail, Slate Creek Trail, Summit Creek Trail, Gulch Creek Trail, and Manitoba Winter Trail, 9 trails total. ATV use will be authorized on most trails, Lynx Creek Trail it may be difficult to use ATV to the ford, Summit Creek Trail and Gulch Creek Trail will not be authorized for ATV access. The estimated period of performance is 06/02/2008 through 09/30/2008. The solicitation and drawings will be available for downloading at http://www.fedbizops.gov on the solicitation issue date.
