- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network 22 Logistics Office intends to award a sole source procurement in accordance with the FAR Part 13 to Newco Distributors, Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-24. The procurement is for animal feed and bedding supplies for research and development at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center. Contractor shall be required to provide research grade animal feed and bedding in accordance with standards of the American Association for Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). All feed and bedding shall be stored, maintained and transported in accordance with guidelines set forth by the AAALAC and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulations. Laboratory bedding shall contain no hydrocarbons. Milling date and product composition must be indicated on all containers of feed. Milling date must be no more than sixty (60) days prior to delivery. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. The Government will consider all proposals received by May 2, 2008, 4:00 PM Standard Pacific Time. Proposals received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries will only be accepted by e-mail or facsimile at (562) 826-8067.
