Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for a new Expeditionary-Water Packaging System (E-WPS). The E-WPS will place potable water into bags ranging from 1 liter to 3 liters. These stand alone packaged bags can be used in the field for such duties as a source of re-supply for the existing Improved Load Bearing Equipment (ILBE) pack system Marine-on-the-move hydration system or distributed as stand alone packaged water for humanitarian relief missions. It is desired that the E-WPS should produce 1500 3-liter bags in less than 2 hours. The E-WPS bag(s) should also be provided with a wide-mouthed cap and feature easy pour using a gloved hand. Note: The E-WPS bag is not intended for replacement of the hydration system bladder, but to serve as a source of water to refill the bladder. The E-WPS needs to be rugged, automated, and skid mounted so that it can be integrated on a standard M1102H HMMWV trailer without exceeding the towing capacity of the HMMWV (the E-WPS and all associated equipment to be mounted to the trailer must not exceed 2740 pounds). Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted in any of the above systems are encouraged and invited to submit product brochures and pricing materials outlining specifications, to include a statement of capabilities. Please notate if the product is offered on GSA Schedule. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This Request for Information (RFI) is for planning. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. Responses t! o this RFI shall be mailed to Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Patty Pagonis CT 025 GTES, 2200 Lester Ave, Quantico, VA 22134-6050 on or before 16 May, 2008. FEDEX or UPS deliveries should be sent to MARCORSYSCOM Material Management, Attn: Patty Pagonis CT 025 GTES, 2201A Willis St, Quantico, VA 22134-6050. Point of Contact: Patty Pagonis, Contract Specialist, Phone (703) 432-5025, Email patricia.pagonis@usmc.mil.
