- This project includes 29.2 miles of Level 3 Road Maintenance and 18.0 miles of Level 2 Road Maintenance. The contractor shall furnish all material, equipment, transportation, supervision, and labor necessary to provide Level 2 and Level 3 Road Maintenance and erosion control. The work includes cleaning all drainage structures, mobilization between roads, removal of obstructions, clearing, removing or repairing slides and slumps, and blading and shaping traveled way. All work shall be performed in accordance with standard industry practices for this type of work, and in accordance with the drawings and specifications of the contract. This project is located on the western portion of the Salida Ranger District of the San Isabel National Forest in the State of Colorado. All roads requiring maintenance are located west and northwest of Salida, CO, and west and southwest of Buena Vista, CO. The equipment required for the successful completion of the contract shall meet the following minimum standards: Road Grader—Motor patrol, self propelled, tandem drive, with a mold board not more than 14 feet or less than 12 feet. Crawler Tractor/Dozer—D3 with 3 tooth ripper bar and angle dozer blade (6 way tilt preferred). Backhoe/Loader—Cat 416E or equivalent. The estimated starting date for this contract is June 2, 2008, with a completion date of November 30, 2008, or approximately a 180 day period of performance. The contractor shall maintain progress at a rate that shall assure completion and acceptance of work within this time frame. Estimated dollar value of this contract is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.000. The solicitation will be restricted to small businesses. The small business size standard for this type of work (NAICS Code 237990) is $31 million.
