Description
The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U.S. Army Forces Strategic Command, Contracting & Acquisition Management Office, Operations West Directorate, extends the subject contract with ITT Industries Inc. Systems Division (CAGE: 0KMM1). This is a notice required in accordance with FAR 5.201 to publish the approval to interested parties of the determination to extend the subject contract. It is anticipated that this is a one time requirement, but if a similar requirement arises, every effort will be made to compete it to the maximum extend possible. A new sources sought synopsis will be accomplished prior to any new re-competition. This action is for a two year extension of the period of performance and a $30M increase in the contract ceiling to complete the existing requirements under contract DASG62-02-C-0002 (the DOCS4 contract). The current contract period of performance expires on 30 January 2009. Funds are currently programmed to support this extension due to the critical need for continued services in support of the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS) Operations Control System (DOCS) Site Support and Services (DOCS4). The DOCS4 contract defines the requirements to provide U.S. Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT) with site support services for the DSCS DOCS and Wideband Global Satellite Communications (WGS) (SATCOM) System. Site Support services consists of on-site coverage and technical assistance, on-call coverage and technical assistance, depot and supply services, training services, logistic services, communications analysis, hardware maintenance services, software, firmware, and database support services, and computer system administration. The current contract consists of a base period with three one-year options plus three one-year award terms. The contractor has consistently performed in an exceptional manner during the entire period of the contract; by of virtue of their performance, they were awarded allthree one-year award terms. Specific mission operational requirements and depot repair timeframes are set forth in the Statement of Work and represent the mission critical requirements for this national, strategic and tactical asset -- DSCS/WGS. Other than the services described above, deliveries under this acquisition will consists of materials, equipment, reports and technical documentation in accordance with the contract. The requirements for this extension are unchanged from the basic contract. Theadditional performance period required is from 01 February 2009 to 30 January 2011. The estimated value of this contract period is estimated at $30,000,000.00 (OMA, and RDT&E).
