Description
The U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street,Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army  Soldier Systems Center,Natick, MA in support of USSOCOM utilizing utilize SimplifiedAcquisitions Procedures FAR 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items,has a requirement for new and innovativelightweight Tactical Assault Boots for a commercial item evaluation. Thepurpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit new and noveldesign concepts for lightweight Tactical Assault Boots for field evaluation. The Tactical Assault Boot will beused by deploying USSOCOM personnel for evaluation purposes to identifypotential new technologies and salient characteristics that are vital tothe Special Operator. The proposed item must be a lightweight Tactical Assault Boot that provides the durability,stability and performance required for extended operation in multipleenvironments. Production Demonstration Models (PDMs) shall besubmitted for each submission. The government anticipates making multiple awards, but reserves the right to make one or noawards. This will be a full and open competitive award. The NAICS Codeis 316219 and the size standard is 500 employees. This is not a RFP. TheGovernment intends to make multiple awards on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity(IDIQ) contract as a result of the RFP. The Government anticipates a oneyear ordering period. The anticipated total minimum requirement is4,500 with a maximum total requirement of 45,000 units. The successful offeror (s) will receive the first deliveryorder (DO) with the minimum quantity (if there is more than one awardeethe quantity for the first DO will be divided equally) mentioned abovefor the award. Comments relating to this synopsis should be submitted via email to Judy Collier, atjudy.a.collier@us.army.mil, no later than 04 APR 2008. The Governmentanticipates releasing the RFP on or about 11 APR 2008.
