- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil/ While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by NSWC Crane. The Government has a requirement for Hydrophone Cables (DWG 53711-6933090-303), Thermistor Cables (DWG 53711-6933090-304), and Transducer Cables (DWG 53711-6933090-305) for use in the Trident Navigation Subsystem Sonar. In addition, the Government has a requirement for Hydrophone Windows (DWG 53711-6029148-301). These requirements will be negotiated on a sole-source basis with LaBarge Inc, 1505 S. Maiden Lane, Joplin, MO 64802 in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 – only one responsible source and no other sources will satisfy agency requirements. LaBarge Inc. is the only qualified source to build the sonar cables for the Trident Navigation Sybsystem Sonar, and any new source would have to be tested and re-qualified at excessive time and monetary costs. The acquisition will be conducted with Simplified Acquisition Procedures for Commercial Items in accordance with FAR 13.5. It is anticipated that this action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract with options. The solicit! ation is expected to be posted on or about 21 April 2008 on the NSWC Crane website at http://www.crane.navy.mil/acquisition/homepage.htm; no hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed.
