- PR Number(s): FD20200850076Item: 0001 Description: Honeywell shall purchase, install, integrate, check-out andcertify a replacement long-stroke linear vibrator at Honeywell,Clearwater, FL facility for engineering testing of Air Force inertialinstruments. The linear vibrator shall be capable of performing dynamictesting of the Pendulous Integrating Gyroscopic Accelerometer (16-PIGA)inertial instrument used in the Minuteman-III Weapon System. It willprovide precisely defined dynamic acceleration exposure to theinstrument under test sufficient to determine modeling terms for the16-PIGA and will also be capable of supporting engineering/failureinvestigations on 16-PIGA instruments.Supp. Description: Integral to the vibrator is the test and supportequipment. In order to evaluate the 16-PIGA, unique equipment is neededto provide power to and monitor the behavior of the instrument.Additionally, specific test parameters and fixturing is required, whichremains proprietary to the 16-PIGA original equipment manufacturer,Honeywell. The linear vibrator would not be capable of performing thetesting functions required by the Air Force without this expertise andequipment.
