The circulation flow rate to keep manifolds filled is afunction of augmenter fuel control inlet pressure (PR) and MEC servopressure (PC). The manifold fill valve spool turns off all circulationflow to fuel manifolds during non-augmentation and when engine is shutdown. Flow is regulated at discharge pressure (PB1). Duringnon-augmented operation, the manifold fill valve uses filtered flowprovided by the engine fuel boost pump to circulate fuel to the core, fan, and local manifolds. This keeps manifolds filled to avoid delayand to provide smooth augmenter response. The fuel from the manifoldsis returned to the manifold fill valve and is then routed back to theengine fuel boost pump (PIR). Circulation flow enters augmenter fuelcontrol from the inlet and discharges through the normal dischargeports. The return flow from manifolds join and return to the fuelcontrol through a single port. Dimensions: Approximately 3 inchesdiameter X 6 inches long; composed of aluminum allow/steel; weighsapproximately 1.5 lbs.
