- The US Army Field Support Command intends to issue a firm fixedprice sole source contract to B&P Process Equipment for the rebuild oftwo each B&P Model 18 PUMM Dual-Planetary 600-Gallon Vertical Mixers.Services, equipment, and materials under this procurement shall consist of rebuild and upgrade of two high shearvertical mixers to bring them back to current standard condition. Thiswill include replacement of key parts and components. The drawings ofthe mixers are proprietary to B&P and will only be available to other vendors from B&P themselves. Redrawing ofparts from other manufacturer will not be acceptable. The tolerance ofone quarter of an inch between the mixer blades and the mix bowl is amust. If the tolerance is less than one quarter of an inch then there would be significant risk of the mix bladetouching the side of the mix bowl and pinching some of the explosivewhich could cause an explosion. If the tolerance is grater than oneinch, insufficient mixing of the explosive will occur. These mixers are located at McAlester Army Ammunition Activity.Interested parties shall identify their interest in writing and mustinclude prices and descriptions containing sufficient technicaldocumentation to establish capability to meet the requirements. All interested firms that can meet the requirements setforth above are requested to submit responses, but only in writing withclear and convincing documentation within 15 days of publication of thisannouncement to: US Army SustainmentCommand, ATTN: AMSAS-ACA-I, Ms. Sally Winn, Rock Island, IL 61299-6500.If no responses clearly demonstrate another vendors ability to meet theGovernments requirements without duplicating costs, a contract will beawarded to B&P Process Equipment.
