- The Naval Air Warfare Center, Lakehurst, New Jersey (NAWCADLKE) intends to issue a sole source contract with Pratt and Whitney Tools of 400 Main Street East Hartford, CT 06108 as per the authority of 10 USC 2304(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The purpose of the proposed contract is to procure the following: Three each of (3) FIXTURE, TARGET OIL FLOW-4,4.5,5 BRG NOZ (PWA500473). Three each of (3) GAGE, CONC.&SQUARENESS- #3 BRG.&COMPRESR (PWA500597). Three Six each of (6) SET, SWEDGE- TEC, #6 OIL TUBE BOSS (PWA500658). Four each of (4) SET, ENG TEST - PT2/PS2 PROBES&TT1 THERM (PWA500678). Four each of (4) THERMOCOUPLE, ANTI-ICING TUBE (PWA500705). Three each of (3) GAGE, TEC, #6 BRG HSNG FXTR, POSITIONING (PWA500749). Three each of (3) GAGE, INSPECTION - #5 OIL SUPPLY TUBE (PWA500790). Twenty Two (22) each of SET, PRESSURE TEST - PT2 AND PT7 (PWA500796). These support equipment tools were specifically designed and developed by Pratt & Whitney to support the J-52-P-408A/B engine with the purpose of improving the US Navy Fleet's ability to maintain the engine. The Government does not own the data rights for the J-52-P-408-A/B engine nor for the subject support equipment. Pratt and Whitney is the sole designer and manufacture of the subject support equipment and does the only known firm which possess the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise necessary to fulfill the Navy's requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See note 22.
